Churchill Downs racetrack in Louisville, Kentucky has held horse races since 1875 and is the home of the renowned Kentucky Derby. This landmark is widely known as the home to some of the best mint julep, a traditional drink made popular at the Kentucky Derby. This photo was taken in August 2008 on a day when nothing was actually happening at the track, but the clouds coming in over the racetrack give this particular photo a lot of character.

The downtown Louisville, Kentucky skyline as seen from across the Ohio River at Falls of the Ohio State Park in Clarksville, Indiana. This is one of the best locations to get a photo of Louisville’s picturesque skyline along the river. This photo was taken on Mother’s Day in May 2010.
