The corner of Haight and Ashbury is widely known as the birthplace of American counterculture, including the hippie movement. Located in San Francisco, California, the Haight Ashbury is an exceptionally liberal area of San Francisco. Churchill Downs racetrack in Louisville, Kentucky has held horse races since 1875 and is the home of the renowned Kentucky Derby. This landmark is widely known as the home to some of the best mint julep, a traditional drink made popular at the Kentucky Derby. This photo was taken in August 2008 on a day when nothing was actually happening at the track, but the clouds coming in over the racetrack give this particular photo a lot of character.
