Licensing

Commercial and personal licensing is available for most of the photos that you see on this website. Below I have provided a guideline of licensing costs. Tier 1 and Tier 2 photo prices vary depending on the photo itself.

TIER 1 – $1,000-MARKET PRICE – These photos are considered the ‘best of the best’ in my collection. Tier one photos have unique qualities that make it a ‘tier 1’ photo, such as rarity, difficulty getting the shot, editing quality, and other factors. Drama within the photo is a major qualification. Examples may include: a large well-shaped supercell thunderstorm, a dramatic city skyline, once-in-a-lifetime events, photos of places or buildings that no longer exist (former Las Vegas casinos, other businesses, bridges, etc).

TIER 2 – $250-MARKET PRICE – These photos include beautifully edited landscapes, cityscapes, waterscapes and more. These photos may have been difficult to capture, expensive to capture, have a unique quality, or be a photo taken under an uncommon circumstance (think lava flows, glacial ice melt, etc). These photos may also contain a person in which you can mostly or completely recognize and see the face.

TIER 3 – $100/each – These photos include photos that may be difficult or expensive to capture, such as aerial photos. Tier 3 photos may also include seasonal photos that may be less common to capture. Post-produced photos of annual festivals and events may also fall into this category. Examples may include: aerial photos, county fair photos, storm photos, sunset/sunrise photos.

TIER 4 – $50/each – A common photo of high quality that is capable of being taken by almost anyone at almost anytime. General stock photos or other common unedited or lightly edited photograph. Examples may include: photo of a local water tower, sign, building, car, common object that has no more than slight editing such as color correction and lighting corrections made to the photo.

On every page on this website that has a photo, you will find licensing and copyright information. I license my photos under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs license which in lamens terms means that my photos are not available for commercial use without first notifyng me and second by paying me a license fee. You can, however, use the photo for journalistic purposes in a magazine or periodical, digital or physical, if you provide a credit to me (Credit: Joey B. Lax-Salinas / JoeyBLS Photography) and in a digital format, provide a link to my webpage. Those who violate the terms of use or infringe on my copyright face harsh fines and penalties including but not limited to damages and attorney fees.

WHAT I ALLOW…

– Journalistic use of my photos with credit and link provided

– Educational use or display of my photo in an educational setting, such as a classroom or university

– Bloggers are welcome to share my photo, however, only in its original form and only with credit

WHAT I DO NOT ALLOW…

– Commercial Use without Permission or Fee Payment

– No derivatives…meaning, you can’t alter the photo or add text or graphics over it (without prior written permission)

– Post and share the photo without providing credit on any website or social media site.

– Claim my work as your own, implied or directly.

– Use JoeyBLS Photography’s name or photos to endorse a business or product without permission

– Printing and distributing my photos

– Public display for non-commercial use without attribution

Information about the photo, the photographer, copyright, and other metadata and geographical information can be found embedded into the photo itself. You can view the file info by right clicking and viewing ‘Properties’ or ‘File Info’. Removal of this information constitutes an act to willfully infringe on my rights and may result in severe penalties and fines allowed by the law.
